ristrutturazione storico ristorante "fiume" a morbegno so - 2017
Tre muri di cemento armato prefabbricato dentro uno storico ristorante di Morbegno.Realizzati a conci modulari sovrapposti o accostati a secco, si confrontano con le murature del vecchio edificio. Il loro peso e materia li rende altro, non sono arredi ma elementi architettonici che organizzano e misurano lo spazio. L’arredo potrà variare, spostarsi, come in ogni ristorante si muoverà sempre per organizzare al meglio pranzi, cene e banchetti, ma loro no, rimarranno lì perché sono nel posto giusto. Con la loro materia, massa e peso affermano la loro immobilità.Il primo nasconde l'accesso alle cucine, il secondo orizzontale mette in rapporto due sale separate, il terzo verticale fa da quinta alla zona dei servizi e guardaroba.Come contrappunto alla elementare geometria dei tre setti in cemento i profondi sguinci esistenti di una piccola finestra sono stati rivestiti con superfici a specchio sui 4 lati. Omaggio con i loro caleidoscopici e deformanti effetti ottici all'antico palazzo barocco Malacrida poco distante.

three walls renovation of historic restaurant “fiume” - morbegno 2017
Three precast concrete walls in an historic restaurant in Morbegno.Designed as modular blocks, to be stacked or placed side by side, they order and define the voids, they dialogue with the walls of the old building. The furnishings can change position, in fact it is always moving..... for lunches, dinners and banquets, but the blocks do not. They stay where they are because they are in the right place. With their mass and weight they assert their stillness.The first conceals the kitchen access, the second is horizontally placed to visually connect the two dining areas, the third vertically placed acts as a backstage to the services and cloakroom.Their weight and material transforms them, they are not furnishings but are architectural devices of spatial organisationAs a counterpoint to the stereometric geometry of the three precast concrete elements, mirrors were placed on all four splays of an existing small window. The kaleidoscopic and deforming optical effects of the mirror frame are an homage to the ancient baroque palace Malacrida not far away.
